The heat wave all over Europe has been more than crazy this month, even temperature records have been broken everywhere.

We have even had to cancel our subscription boxes for the month July, since we didn’t want to delay the delivery for so long.

So, we hope you are keeping yourselves hydrated and healthy.

Here are some tips on how to keep yourself hydrated:

🥤 Drink a glass of water right after waking up and just before going to bed

🥝 Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables… they have a high content of water

🍴 Drink water with meals – a glass of water before each meal and during to help you stay hydrated.

🍫 And my favorite. Define how many glasses of water you want to drink. Now put the same number of pieces chocolates close to you. Every time you go for a treat, grab also a glass of water.

5 ideas on how to celebrate chocolate day! 🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫

There are a number of days around the year, when we celebrate "Chocolate Day", and July 7th is one of them.

As chocolate lovers, it's not like we need an excuse to indulge in our favorite food. 😉
But let's be honest, we can always find a good reason to enjoy our favorite chocolate. So why not celebrate this day as well ?!?

It's unclear why who came up with this yummy food day, but we can tell that the world has been celebrating it since 2009. And if you want to keep this tradition alive, here are some ideas on how to celebrate Chocolate day this week:

1- Indulge in a delicious chocolate dessert. Maybe a classic brownie, an exciting chocolate mousse.

2- Chocolate for breakfast? Oh Yes! Get creative this weekend, and start the day the best way.. with chocolate! Maybe a chocolate smoothie, or add some chocolate pieces to your oatmeal.

3- Learn about chocolate. As with coffee, the world of chocolate is in constant change. So check out new origins, or learn about the term Craft or Bean to Bar chocolate. It's great to learn about our favorite food.

4- Prepare a chocolate dessert at home. That always works to lift me up!

5- Explore your dark side. We know you don't need another reason to eat chocolate, but we have one more. There are countless studies that confirm that chocolate can be a healthy sweet. You just have to remember the darker the better. Maybe 85%? 90%? or why not a 100%

If you remember we (me and my husband) come from Venezuela!
Venezuela is a country known for its cacao... and the cacao from Chuao is one of the most popular! Sometime even considered the world's best cacao.
So this chocolate brings closer to home!

Chuao is very beautiful, remote coastal town in Venezuela. Almost isolated from the world, it can only be reached by small finishing boats or "peñeros" as we call them. In this small town, the beach, the colorful boats and the beans are all part of the landscape.

And this unique bar from @choctreescotland, brings that landscape and that warm feeling to life! Warm tones and flavors, this chocolate has sweet fruity notes. Cherries, plums and blackberries are just a few that will make you travel all the way to Chuao! 🇻🇪

Sadly, this bar has run out today, sorry kids! If you order a dark chocolate box, we will add a different chocolate. But not to be disappointed, we will definitely be bringing more! A bar like this one, is not a one time thing! 😉

This is first time we have a @cluizelparis bar in our subscription box, and we can say with certainty that you will not be disappointed.

We tried their bars for the first time early this year in a chocolate festival here in Cologne... and we fell in love.
So creamy... so intense in flavor... definitely a true chocolate experience!

This Vila Gracinda Plantation Dark Chocolate bar reveals unique volcanic and marine earth accents: roasted, spicy and herbaceous. This bar made with cacao beans from Sao Tome, has also a lingering tropical fruit and slight licorice flavor finish.

In Africa, in the Gulf of Guinea, Sao Tome is a small island set on the line of the equator. Its volcanic soil and equatorial climate are so well suited to cocoa trees that Sao Tome is nicknamed "the island of chocolate". The proximity of the Atlantic Ocean brings to the beans of the Plantation Vila Gracinda a hint of salty iodine deposited by the sea spray.

Definitely quite unique! 😉

When we think of the Philippines craft chocolate scene, Auro chocolate immediately comes to mind.

The Philippines was one of the first countries in Asia where cocoa cultivation was introduced many hundred years ago. But due to the mass cocoa production from Africa, the market fell apart. But quality cacao is now making its come back, thanks in part to Auro chocolate.

This bar belongs to their reserve collection. These bars are passionately crafted from the finest beans from not only a single region, but a single harvest. They bring out the rare, distinctive characteristics of each community and their land.

Located in the lush tropical forests of Davao, this 85% dark chocolate "Mana" has notes of caramelized apple, rum, sweet banana & cashew apple. When we try this bar, we remember why chocolate was considered "food of the gods".
