Description
This Akessons 100% Brasil cocoa and nibs chocolate bar is smooth, woody and earthy. Subtle in acidity, it has also expressive notes that evoke scents of autumn and tobacco. In addition, cocoa nibs are given for extra crunch and genuine flavor. The Akessons 100% Brasil is crafted with cacao beans from the Fazenda Sempre Firme plantation right in the middle of the Mata Atlantica, the wild forest with the highest biodiversity on earth. In other words, they are growing the traditional and astonishing Forastero cocoa variety called “parasinho” that made the cacao glory of Bahia at the beginning of the 20th century.
Bertil Åkesson has discovered his love for cocoa on his parents’ plantations. In Madagascar, the journey once began through the fascinating world of cocoa, spices and other delicious wonders. Over the years, Bertil Akesson learned the secrets and subtleties of the world of cocoa. Besides cocoa, spices like e.g. vanilla and different kinds of peppers are grown on the family’s estates, some of which even are added to the chocolate, creating fragrant compositions.
Tasting profile: woody, earthy. Spicy and tobacco notes.
